Built to be read by everyone
We aim for this site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. It has not been independently audited, so this page says what we have done rather than claiming a badge.
Last updated 13 October 2026.
What we have done
- Every page works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a “Skip to content” link.
- Pages are built from real headings, lists, links and buttons, so a screen reader can move around them by structure.
- Text is set in Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface designed to keep similar-looking letters apart.
- Text and controls are checked for contrast against their backgrounds.
- Form fields have labels, and errors are announced and tied to the field they are about.
- The drawings have text descriptions, and nothing on a page depends on a drawing to be understood.
- The small animations in the drawings are switched off if your device asks for reduced motion.
- Nothing plays sound, flashes, or moves by itself in a way you cannot stop.
- The pages can be zoomed to 200% and read on a narrow screen without scrolling sideways.
What we know is not right yet
- The newsletter and contact forms need JavaScript. If you cannot use them, tell us through the contact form from a device that can, and we will do the same thing by hand.
- The labels inside the large drawing on the home page are hidden on small screens because they would be too small to read. The caption beneath it says the same thing.
The games
This statement is about the website only. The games are separate software. Learn Dungeon's own accessibility features are planned and not built yet, and its page will say so when that changes.
Tell us about a problem
If something here does not work for you, message us through our contact form and say what you were trying to do and what you were using. We read every message and we would rather hear about it.
